A newcomer to the Barga art scene is exhibiting her work down in the scuola materna gallery in Barga Giardino. A new name and face she might be but her first exhibition here certainly shows the talent that she has at her fingertips. Self taught ceramicist and painter Mari Pia Angeli has brought to Barga a series of paintings including not just the more traditional views of the Duomo but also showing the Barga Vecchia that many visitors miss – the almost hidden angles and passageways off the beaten track that can be found if they wander away from the main piazzas. Also included on the walls are a number of finely drawn pencil and charcoal portraits and other views of nearby Cardoso. To complete the exhibition are a series of decorated ceramics in terracotta.
The exhibition will remain open to the public daily until the 22nd August.
