The last snow article we published the day before yesterday was entitled “Light snowfall on Barga” this article without any doubt will have to be titled “Heavy snowfall on by Barga” as it has now been snowing non-stop for the last five hours and there is a very good chance that is day breaks over Barga, the snow will still be falling.
Major problems for transport as 40 cm of snow has already fallen.
The snowploughs have been out since dusk battling to clear the roads but with that amount of snow falling they are facing a difficult task.
The schools in the area have already been been declared shut – much to the delight of all concerned.
People in the streets this evening talked about it being the heaviest snowfall that they could remember since 1985.
