Well they do say that you can’t keep a good man down, especially if he has got rhythm flowing through his veins. In January 2009, Jack’s Pack – the premier Barga blues band finally called it a day and played their last concert together (article here) We said then in that article that unless the Lazarus syndrome kicks in, then Jack’s Pack really had folded.
Well that’s precisely what did happen – Lazarus did rise from the dead and from the corpse of Jacks Pack a newer slimline version rose up under a new name – The Beagles.
It turns out that the trio, Geoff Collins-White, Jack Nannini and Keane had been in the rehearsal studios all winter and emerged blinking into the sunlight with a new burst of creative energy and a full repertoire of new songs. (article here)
Now fast forward another 12 months and we find a stronger, faster, fitter Beagles on stage this evening at the Barga Jazz Club and this time with a new drummer Rockin’ Rico and with the original Jack’s Pack bass man Gino Tonico hold up the rhythm section.
The boys are back !
