Thursday saw Barga lashed by one of those fierce summer storms which occasionally come suddenly, swiftly and unannounced out of a blue sky. Forty four mm’s of rain dropped on the city in less than one hour with guttering, pipes and drains struggling to contain the flood of water.
As quickly as it arrived, the storm passed and once more clear blue skies returned over Barga but the temperatures which dropped quite considerably during the storm never really recovered and so remained much lower than normal for the season.
