(article here)

As we reported in April of year year (article here) the hotel Ciocco has just undertaken a renovation costing over ten million Euros and convert to Marriott’s Renaissance brand and of this week is now known as the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa.
Gone is the old logo, now it is the R Renaissance to welcome visitors at the entrance of the hotel which was first opened by the Marcucci family back in 1956.
Shaner Ciocco, a subsidiary of Shaner Italia, will manage the five-star level hotel.
“There is growing worldwide demand for internationally recognized hotel brands,” said Lance Shaner, chairman and CEO of SHG. “Italy is a great hotel market but requires strong local knowledge for long-term success. Over the next several years, we intend to partner with local owners/investment groups to develop or acquire up to five hotels. We will focus on Marriott-branded hotels, looking at major cities and resort areas primarily in Tuscany and then eventually expanding to other parts of Italy. We will look for opportunities ranging from luxury hotels to upscale focused-service properties.”
One hundred and eighty rooms (including 11 suites and junior suites), 11 meeting rooms, a large conference centre with nearly 900 seats, an outdoor swimming pool, wellness area with gym, sauna, thermal plant, indoor pool, an exclusive Beauty Spa are just some of the attractions and services of Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco.
