The bell ringers of Barga were up bright and early this morning to ring in the celebrations for Easter.
The sound of their bells was heard right across the valley as people trooped up the hill to the Duomo for the Easter mass.
Tradition is such an important part of this community and this morning tradition was upheld but a new element was added as many people who opened their windows this morning found out to their surprise.
Fresh snow fall during the night on the mountains around the city and a drop in temperature has meant that the spring Easter was overnight replaced once more by the encroaching winter which just refused to go away.
All eyes are now on the weather forecast to see just what is in store for the coming days.
