Barga Jazz – Fabrizio Bosso Quartet WE4

Fabrizio Bosso – tromba |  Julian Oliver Mazzariello – pianoforte |  Jacopo Ferrazza – contrabbasso | Nicola Angelucci, batteria

After countless concerts around the world and years of continuous confrontation, WE4 is therefore the complete representation, in sound, interplay and composition, of total sharing.

In the new repertoire, in fact, there are original pieces written specifically by each for this formation, a 4-hand composition by Fabrizio Bosso and Julian Oliver Mazzariello and two pieces that bear the signature of all four.

Fabrizio Bosso

With several musicians in his family, Post-bop Italian jazz trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso’s encounter with music was already written in his genetic heritage. At the tender age of five Bosso started learning the trumpet, graduating at fifteen from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Turin.

Gifted with an impeccable instrumental technique and a lyricism capable of transporting and moving any listener’s soul, Bosso developed his artistic growth and career by tackling every type of musical genre, whilst always remaining true to his jazz roots.

Over the years Bosso has recorded numerous albums, both as leader and as special guest. In joining forces with many formations in both long and short-term collaborations, he continually enriched his own style and inspiration.

Over the course of his career Bosso has collaborated with many music icons, making the best of every moment shared with them to nurture his own experience, just as he in turn collaborates with young talents, thus supporting their emerging careers and providing them with new opportunities and greater exposure in the jazz world.

A rigorous and indefatigable musician, he performs worldwide, showcasing on stage his prodigious melodic richness and Italian musicality, which, combined with his intimate knowledge of the Afro-American tradition and his constant attention to all that is new on the international music scene, make his trumpet-playing unique and instantly recognizable.
