A visit this morning to Barga of the honorary consul of Italy to Glasgow, Ronnie Convery.

He has appeared on this site in the past when he was the secretary general of Mario Joseph Conti, Archbishop Emeritus of the Metropolitan see of Glasgow, Scotland although born in Elgin, Moray, Scotland had family from this area in nearby Fosciandora.

Ronnie Convery was in the town hall this morning, accompanied by the Bargo-Scottish entrepreneur William Moriconi, for an informal meeting with the mayor Caterina Campani, to resume talks for an official visit to Scotland by the comune to strengthen and enhance the links with Barga and Scotland planned for this autumn.

Also present this morning were members of the Gatti Randagi who were there to receive a signed Celtic football shirt by the Celtic and Scotland player David Turnbull.

David Turnbull (born 10 July 1999) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Celtic and the Scotland national team. He began his career at Motherwell, and has won both of the major Young Player of the Year awards (SFWA and PFA).
