The summer season continues at the Galleria Comunale in Barga with the project “In… comune” curated by Giorgia Madiai and Kerry Bell.
From Saturday 16 July the Municipal Gallery and the nearby Caffè Capretz will host CINZIO’s solo exhibition “TUTTO FA BRODO”.
In this small anthological exhibition CINZIO presents a selection of works that start from the late 90s up to the present day: a transversal path that starts from the works of cultural interference up to the most recent pictorial works. Ecology and sustainable practices, popular culture are some of the main ingredients of this path.
The title refers to the fact that “anything can come in handy” as when, in the past, broth was made using many edible and random waste foods, resulting in something generic for a minimal purpose.
In this exhibition Cinzio wanted to host and give an unknown artist the opportunity to publicly exhibit his works for the first time: the artist in question is called DanolDuck.
DanolDuck is a masked artist whose true identity no one knows: he defines himself as a painter duck, who only depicts ducks inspired by the character of Donald Duck.
Donald is the anti-hero par excellence, the incarnation of the average modern man, with his frustrations, his problems and his thousand fears. Donald always thinks that the cause of his problems are to be attributed to others or to the bad luck that haunts him.
But the best part of the character is just that.
That despite misfortunes, he continues to look at life with optimism and positivity, always moving forward with renewed enthusiasm.
The exhibition will open with a short performance, where the artists, with some guests, will perform an energetic cleansing ritual to drive away evil spirits and as a propitiatory act.
