As we already published in an article this morning (full article and images here) concerning the drama as two school buses en route to the high schools in Barga were destroyed in a fire that broke out around 7:30 on the Loppia provincial road.
Thankfully, there were no injuries among the students who continued on to school on foot but both buses were completely destroyed.
The fire originated from the front bus. Smoke and flames began to rise from the back of the bus, and the driver immediately evacuated the students and attempted to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher, but the fire had grown too intense.
The second bus, which had stopped behind, was unable to move forward. Eventually, the first bus, engulfed in flames, broke loose, rolled backwards and collided with the second bus, causing the fire to spread to the second bus as well.
This evening two low loaders moved slowly through the the streets of Barga as they transported the burnt out wrecks away from the scene of the fire.
The Loppia road is now open again.
Now all that is left is to investigate the reason behind how the fire started on the first bus and make sure that an event such as this never has the chance to happen again.

Come abbiamo già pubblicato un articolo questa mattina (articolo completo e immagini qui) riguardo alla drammatica situazione in cui due autobus scolastici in viaggio verso le scuole superiori a Barga sono stati distrutti in un incendio che è scoppiato intorno alle 7:30 sulla strada provinciale di Loppia.
Fortunatamente, non ci sono stati feriti tra gli studenti che hanno continuato a scuola a piedi, ma entrambi gli autobus sono stati completamente distrutti. L’incendio è originato dal primo autobus. Fumo e fiamme sono iniziati a salire dalla parte posteriore dell’autobus, e il conducente ha immediatamente evacuato gli studenti e ha tentato di estinguere l’incendio con un estintore, ma il fuoco era diventato troppo intenso.
Il secondo autobus, che si era fermato dietro, non è stato in grado di muoversi in avanti. Alla fine, il primo autobus, avvolto dalle fiamme, si è staccato, ha rotolato all’indietro e si è scontrato con il secondo autobus, causando la diffusione del fuoco anche al secondo autobus.
Questa sera, due caricatori a basso profilo si sono mossi lentamente per le strade di Barga mentre trasportavano i rottami bruciati lontano dalla scena dell’incendio.
Adesso tutto ciò che resta da fare è indagare sulla causa dell’inizio dell’incendio sul primo autobus e assicurarsi che un evento del genere non abbia mai la possibilità di accadere di nuovo.
