LIMBO FESTIVAL unveils the complete lineup for the upcoming edition, which will take place from July 7th to 9th, 2023, in the splendid setting of the “Il Ciocco” estate in Barga (Lucca).
Accompanying the sunsets and nights of the festival will be DJ sets by Gerd Janson, Roman Flugel, Daniele Baldelli, Luca Bacchetti, Eduardo Castillo, Crussen, and MLiR, as well as live performances by Gold Panda and Opole. They will be joined by the Conservatorio L. Boccherini, Cosmic Bambino, Markeno, Vandana Hart, Vitamina Jeans, and live performances by Leo D’Angilla, The Aristodemos, and Zam Dembélé And Mozait.
Awaiting the participants are many novelties including wine and gastronomy tastings, exhibitions, talks, human design, masterclasses, bike rides, yoga classes, excursions, tours in the vineyards and villages of Garfagnana, all contributing to making LIMBO FESTIVAL a unique and unforgettable experience, infused with an atmosphere of well-being, fun, collective growth, respect for the community, and love for the hosting territory.
The lineup will also be enhanced by the live performance of Leo D’Angilla, a percussionist, drummer, and producer who has worked with artists such as Adriano Celentano, Elisa, Jovanotti, Marco Mengoni, and Tiziano Ferro, to name a few. At LIMBO FESTIVAL, he will return to his roots rooted in reggae and electronic music, performing with his latest project “DubLoops,” an engaging and hypnotic “Live Dub Solo” with radical Anglo-Jamaican atmospheres.
Among the most evocative performances, Vandana Hart stands out, the creator and host of the global movement “We Speak Dance,” who will bring her “Mermaid Dance” to LIMBO FESTIVAL, an invitation to move together, inspiring change through music and dance. Also, Jill Goldman, an activist, director, and artist from Los Angeles whose work incorporates dance, performance, photography, film, and video, will invite participants to dissolve the bonds of gender oppression and imagine a reincarnated self free from power and patriarchal domination with “Disentanglement Re-Embodiment.”
Further enriching the program will be the surprise Pop-Up Concerts by the Conservatorio L. Boccherini, a reference point and vibrant reality within the Lucchese music scene.
Among the most anticipated meeting opportunities are the masterclass with Maike Gabriela, a native Spanish with German origins, Human Design consultant, and founder of the “Transformational Human Design™” method, and the talk “Forci, Regenerative Life” with Michiel and Nina Von Ogtrop from Forci, an organic farm located in the hills of Tuscany.
Food will continue to be a major protagonist of LIMBO FESTIVAL through wine and gastronomy tastings and various chef dinners. This year, participants will also have the opportunity to test their skills during the cooking class held by chef Aurelio Barattini, owner of the renowned “Antica Locanda” in Sesto (LU).
LIMBO FESTIVAL will also collaborate with SACBE CAMP, a Mexican community co-founded by María Sánchez, which has been organizing events in magical places far from the chaos of urban life for ten years. Five years ago, it also reached Black Rock City in Nevada, embarking on a new and unique path, allowing its evolution even in an urban context. Among the various activities offered by SACBE CAMP, including yoga and meditation, the “Cacao Ceremony” holds particular significance, as it is an ancient ritual originating from the indigenous peoples of Central America.
LIMBO is a boutique festival that combines music, nature, outdoor activities, talks, and culinary explorations. While in the previous edition it served as a metaphor for the tribe, representing the sharing of experiences and diversity as wealth, in 2023, the boutique festival will follow the claim of “A human future.”
LIMBO FESTIVAL was born out of the need to create well-being for people through the sharing of pleasure, the beauty of the land it is hosted in, the opportunities offered by our era, and the connection of seemingly distant arts and disciplines that once again place humans and their needs at the center. In a world characterized by a simplistic and binary ethic shaped by algorithms that increasingly influence our way of life, it is essential to return to humanistic culture, to not lose sight of humanity’s capacity to act through empathy, generosity, curiosity, and optimism. Humanism, of which Italy has been the cradle and source, will be the fundamental tool to face the technological revolution that awaits us.
“The future holds a marvelous future in which humanism counterbalances technology,” say the organizers. “A future that depends on the wise balance of these two worlds and that places the human, with its primal algorithms of intuition, desire, courage, and love, at the center of everything.”
The event will take place for the third consecutive year at the splendid estate of “Il Ciocco” in the green Garfagnana region of Tuscany, a perfect location for an idea of well-being typical of these places, where the landscape is authentic and timeless traditions thrive.

La line up sarà impreziosita anche dal live di Leo D’Angilla, percussionista, batterista e produttore
che ha lavorato con artisti del calibro di Adriano Celentano, Elisa, Jovanotti, Marco Mengoni e Tiziano Ferro, solo per citarne alcuni. A LIMBO FESTIVAL ritornerà alle proprie origini, radicate nel reggae e nell’elettronica, esibendosi col suo ultimo progetto “DubLoops”, un coinvolgente ed ipnotico “Live Dub Solo” dalle radicali atmosfere anglo-giamaicane.
Tra le performance più suggestive, spiccano quella di Vandana Hart, creatrice e conduttrice del movimento globale “We Speak Dance”, che a LIMBO FESTIVAL porterà la sua “Mermaid Dance”, un invito a muoversi insieme ispirando il cambiamento attraverso la musica e la danza; e quella Jill Goldman, un’attivista, regista e artista di Los Angeles il cui lavoro incorpora danza, performance, fotografia, film e video, che con “Disentanglement Re-Embodiment” inviterà i partecipanti a sciogliere i legami dell’oppressione di genere e di immaginare un sé reincarnato, libero dal potere e dalla dominazione patriarcale.
Ad arricchire ulteriormente il programma, saranno i Pop-Up Concerts a sorpresa del Conservatorio L. Boccherini, punto di riferimento e vivace realtà consolidata all’interno del mondo musicale lucchese.
Tra le occasioni di incontro più attese la masterclass con Maike Gabriela, nativa spagnola con origini tedesche, consulente di Human Design e fondatrice del metodo “Transformational Human Design™”, e il talk “Forci, Regenerative Life” con Michiel e Nina Von Ogtrop di Forci, una tenuta agricola situata tra le colline della Toscana votata al biologico.
Il cibo continuerà a essere grande protagonista di LIMBO FESTIVAL attraverso degustazioni enogastronomiche e chef dinners di vario tipo. Quest’anno, inoltre, i partecipanti potranno mettersi alla prova durante la cooking class tenuta dallo chef Aurelio Barattini, proprietario della rinomata “Antica Locanda” di Sesto (LU).
LIMBO FESTIVAL vedrà anche la collaborazione con SACBE CAMP, community messicana, co-fondata da María Sánchez, che da dieci anni organizza eventi in luoghi magici lontani dal caos della vita urbana e che cinque anni fa è anche arrivato a Black Rock City, in Nevada, intraprendendo un nuovo e singolare cammino, permettendo la propria evoluzione anche in contesto “urban”. Tra le varie attività che verranno proposte da SACBE CAMP, tra cui yoga e meditazione, di particolare rilievo sarà “La cerimonia del cacao”, antico rito risalente ai popoli indigeni del Centro America.
LIMBO è un boutique festival fatto di musica, natura, attività all’aperto, talk ed esplorazioni enogastronomiche. Se nella scorsa edizione è stata la metafora della tribù, intesa come la condivisione di esperienza e la diversità come ricchezza, a ispirare la genesi dell’evento, nel 2023 il boutique festival seguirà il claim “A human future”.
LIMBO FESTIVAL nasce infatti dall’esigenza di far star bene le persone attraverso la condivisione del piacere, la bellezza della terra da cui è ospitato, le possibilità offerte dalla nostra era, la connessione di arti e discipline apparentemente lontane che mettono di nuovo al centro l’uomo e i suoi bisogni. In un mondo caratterizzato da un’etica semplicistica e binaria costituita da algoritmi che sempre più prepotentemente influenzano il nostro modo di vivere, è essenziale tornare alla cultura umanista, per non perdere di vista la capacità dell’uomo di agire attraverso empatia, generosità, curiosità e ottimismo. L’Umanesimo, di cui l’Italia è stata culla e sorgente, sarà lo strumento fondamentale per affrontare la rivoluzione tecnologica che ci aspetta.
«Ci attende un futuro meraviglioso, in cui l’umanesimo è il contrappeso della tecnologia» – raccontano gli organizzatori – «Un futuro che dipende dal sapiente equilibrio di questi due mondi e che riporta l’umano al centro di tutto, con i suoi algoritmi primordiali: intuizione, desiderio, coraggio e amore».
L’evento avrà luogo, per il terzo anno consecutivo, nella splendida tenuta “Il Ciocco”, nella verde Garfagnana in Toscana, la location perfetta per un’idea di benessere tipica di questi luoghi, dove il paesaggio è autentico e sopravvivono tradizioni senza tempo.
