On the 17th and 18th of August, two evenings were dedicated to emerging groups under 35 (BargaJazz Contest), with four finalist formations.
On the stage of the Festival in the Gardens of Villa Moorings, the following groups performed:
The METRONAUTICA QUARTET with Michele Tedesco on trumpet, Luca Dalla Gasperina on piano, Francesco Bordignon on double bass, and Thomas Zausa on drums.
The ALDO DI CATERINO QUARTET with Aldo di Caterino on flute, Niccolò Petrafesa on piano, Andrea Esperti on double bass, and Dario Riccardo on drums.
The NUGARA TRIO with Spassov Viden on piano, Francesco Negri on double bass, and Francesco Parsi on drums.
The MARCO ULLSTEIN QUINTET with Marco Ullstein on vibraphone, Pablo Cruz on tenor saxophone, Emiliano Roca on guitar, Arjun Ramdas on double bass, and Francesco Parsi on drums.
During the evening of August 18th, the BargaJazz Contest 2023 award was presented, along with a special prize for the best soloist dedicated to pianist “Luca Flores,” a member of the Barga orchestra in the early editions of the festival.

Il 17 e 18 agosto, due serate sono state dedicate a gruppi emergenti sotto i 35 anni (BargaJazz Contest), con quattro formazioni finaliste.

Durante la serata dell’18 agosto, è stato assegnato il premio BargaJazz Contest 2023, insieme a un premio speciale per il miglior solista dedicato al pianista “Luca Flores”, membro dell’orchestra di Barga nelle prime edizioni del festival.
