Il 23 agosto, presso i giardini di Villa Moorings a Barga, il gruppo Double Cut ha presentato il loro ultimo lavoro con Tino Tracanna ai sassofoni, Massimiliano Milesi al sassofono tenore e alla melodica, Giulio Corini al contrabbasso e Filippo Sala alla batteria.
“Dannate Danze” è stato il terzo album del quartetto originale basato su improvvisazioni collettive, spontaneità, ritmi potenti, pause improvvisi, cambiamenti di umore, densità e rarefazione. “Il progetto è nato dal desiderio di collaborare con giovani musicisti – che erano ancora ragazzi quando abbiamo iniziato – con l’intenzione di condurre prove molto accurate e approfondire le idee che stavo sviluppando in un duo con Massimiliano Milesi. Cercavo principalmente condivisione, dialogo, la dimensione collettiva nel fare musica e, grazie ai talenti straordinari di Massimiliano, Filippo e Giulio, il gruppo è cresciuto molto rapidamente. Energia ed essenzialità, interplay e astrazione, struttura e libertà: questo è ciò che Double Cut rappresenta per me. Oltre ad essere un’esperienza umana fondamentale – Tino Tracanna
Double Cut è un gruppo senza strumenti armonici che ha cercato e sviluppato la propria voce, sfruttando tutto il potenziale contrappuntistico offerto dai quattro strumenti. In questo album, l’attenzione era sulle pulsazioni e sulla capacità più ritmica e primitiva di questo gruppo. Questo è il significato di “Dannate Danze”. Ritmi a volte selvaggi, a volte disruptivi e altre volte fluttuanti.

On August 23rd, at the gardens of Villa Moorings in Barga, the group Double Cut presented their latest work with Tino Tracanna on saxophones, Massimiliano Milesi on tenor saxophone and melodica, Giulio Corini on double bass, and Filippo Sala on drums.
“Dannate Danze” the third album of the original quartet based on collective improvisations, spontaneity, powerful grooves, sudden breaks, changes in mood, density, and rarefaction. “The project was born from the desire to collaborate with young musicians – who were still younger men when we started – with the intention of conducting very meticulous rehearsals and delving into the ideas that I was developing in a duo with Massimiliano Milesi. I was primarily seeking sharing, dialogue, the collective dimension of making music, and thanks to the extraordinary talents of Massimiliano, Filippo, and Giulio, the group grew very quickly. Double Cut is a group without harmonic instruments that sought and developed its own voice, exploiting all the contrapuntal potential offered by the four instruments. In this album, the focus was on the pulsations and the more rhythmic and primal ability of this group. This is the meaning of “Dannate Danze” (Damned Dances). Rhythms sometimes wild, sometimes disruptive, and at other times fluctuating.
TINO TRACANNA

Coming from improvised music experiences, present in Italy in the seventies, he graduated in Disciplines of the Arts, Music and Entertainment at the DAMS of Bologna.
From 1981 to the early nineties he was a member of Franco D’Andrea’s group (group awarded as Best Group of the Year by Musica Jazz magazine, 1986) with whom he participated in numerous international jazz festivals and recorded, among others, albums “Live” and “No Idea of Time”, respectively best album Jazz Music 1984 and 1986.
