REPETITA IUVANT Announce New Album “3+2” on Deluxe Coloured Vinyl and Digital formats.
With 3+2, REPETITA IUVANT refine a personal and uncompromising language where post rock, no wave psychedelia, experimental dynamics and hypnotic repetition converge into a vivid instrumental narrative. The album moves through tension and release, angular textures and cinematic expansions, guided more by emotional architecture than by traditional song structures.
Their sound unfolds through layered guitars, subtle electronic shades and fluid rhythmic patterns, shaping immersive soundscapes that balance discipline and imagination. 3+2 is built on contrasts: minimalism against explosion, meditation against movement, structure against instinct. Each track evolves organically, drawing the listener into a continuous flow rather than isolated moments.
The trio, formed by Cristoforo Da Costa (guitars, synth), Daniele Isetta (guitars, synth) and Andrea Testa (drums), explore repetition as a creative force, transforming motifs into living forms that expand, fracture and recombine. The result is an album that feels both cerebral and visceral, experimental yet deeply atmospheric.

Q: We are here in Barga Vecchia at the moment. What is happening tonight? What is this event and where is the music coming from?
A: We brought along the new album by Repetita Iuvanta — our fifth studio release. The album is called 3 + 2 and we presented it here at Franco’s place because, this time, we finally managed to release it on vinyl.
Q: So vinyl is still important for bands like yours?
A: Absolutely. Vinyl sales are actually moving forward very well. In many cases vinyl now sells better than CDs because collectors and music enthusiasts prefer the format. People like the physical object, the artwork and the fact that it becomes something to keep and collect. Ours is also a limited edition pressing, so that made the decision even more natural for us.
Q: The album is also being distributed outside Italy?
A: Yes. We are working with the Genoa-based label Argonauta Records, which helps circulate our music not only in Italy but also around Europe and even in the United States. We are very pleased with how things are developing internationally.
Q: The record itself has a very distinctive look. Why the strong yellow and black colours?
A: The whole visual concept was carefully designed around yellow and black because this album forms the second chapter of a trilogy. The previous release used black and white tones, while this time we chose yellow and black to give the project a different identity while still keeping continuity between the records.
Q: Your music and artwork seem very abstract — even the title uses only numbers. Why avoid words and direct references?
A: That has always been part of the idea behind the project. We prefer to let the music and the visual imagery speak for themselves. We avoid obvious titles or explanations and instead work with numbers, colours and atmosphere. The graphic design becomes another part of the musical experience.
Q: I noticed there is an insert inside this copy, but not in all of the records. Earlier you mentioned that only some editions were numbered?
A: Yes. We produced only 100 copies of the insert. It was created in collaboration with two artists from La Spezia — Alessandro Ratti and Alberto Livotto, one an illustrator and the other a photographer. That became part of the overall artistic concept of the album. Once again everything was built around the yellow-and-black theme, which became the visual identity we chose for this chapter of the project.
Q: One final question — when will people be able to hear the music performed live?
A: We are currently organising a concert right here in Barga. Hopefully it will happen sometime in July. It will almost certainly take place on a Friday evening, although at the moment we do not yet have an exact date confirmed.

Con 3+2, i Repetita Iuvanta affinano un linguaggio personale e senza compromessi in cui post rock, psichedelia no wave, dinamiche sperimentali e ripetizione ipnotica convergono in una narrazione strumentale intensa e cinematografica. L’album si muove tra tensione e rilascio, trame angolari ed espansioni sonore, guidato più da un’architettura emotiva che dalle tradizionali strutture della canzone.
Il loro suono si sviluppa attraverso chitarre stratificate, sottili sfumature elettroniche e pattern ritmici fluidi, costruendo paesaggi sonori immersivi che bilanciano disciplina e immaginazione. 3+2 nasce dal contrasto: minimalismo contro esplosione, meditazione contro movimento, struttura contro istinto. Ogni brano evolve organicamente, trascinando l’ascoltatore in un flusso continuo piuttosto che in momenti isolati.
Il trio, formato da Cristoforo Da Costa (chitarre, synth), Daniele Isetta (chitarre, synth) e Andrea Testa (batteria), esplora la ripetizione come forza creativa, trasformando motivi musicali in forme vive che si espandono, si frammentano e si ricompongono. D: Siamo qui a Barga Vecchia in questo momento. Cosa sta succedendo questa sera? Che cos’è questo evento e da dove arriva questa musica?
R: Abbiamo portato il nuovo disco dei Repetita Iuvanta — il nostro quinto lavoro in studio. L’album si chiama 3 + 2 e lo abbiamo presentato qui da Franco perché questa volta siamo finalmente riusciti a pubblicarlo in vinile.
D: Quindi il vinile è ancora importante per gruppi come il vostro?
R: Assolutamente sì. Il mercato del vinile sta andando molto bene. In molti casi il vinile vende persino meglio dei CD perché collezionisti e appassionati preferiscono questo formato. Alla gente piace l’oggetto fisico, la grafica e il fatto che diventi qualcosa da conservare e collezionare. Inoltre la nostra è una tiratura limitata, quindi la scelta è venuta abbastanza naturale.
D: L’album viene distribuito anche fuori dall’Italia?
R: Sì. Collaboriamo con l’etichetta genovese Argonauta Records, che ci aiuta a far circolare la nostra musica non solo in Italia ma anche in Europa e negli Stati Uniti. Siamo molto soddisfatti di come si stanno sviluppando le cose a livello internazionale.
D: Anche l’aspetto visivo del disco è molto particolare. Perché avete scelto proprio il giallo e il nero?
R: Tutto il concept grafico è stato studiato intorno al giallo e nero perché questo album rappresenta il secondo capitolo di una trilogia. Il lavoro precedente utilizzava tonalità in bianco e nero, mentre questa volta abbiamo scelto il giallo e nero per dare al progetto una nuova identità pur mantenendo una continuità tra i vari dischi.
D: La vostra musica e anche la grafica sembrano molto astratte — persino il titolo utilizza soltanto numeri. Perché evitare parole e riferimenti diretti?
R: Fa parte dell’idea stessa del progetto. Preferiamo lasciare che siano la musica e le immagini a parlare da sole. Evitiamo titoli troppo espliciti o spiegazioni dirette e lavoriamo invece con numeri, colori e atmosfere. Anche la grafica diventa parte integrante dell’esperienza musicale.
D: Ho notato che dentro questa copia c’è un insert, ma non in tutti i dischi. Prima mi avevi detto che solo alcune edizioni erano numerate?
R: Sì. Abbiamo realizzato soltanto 100 copie dell’insert. È stato creato insieme a due artisti spezzini — Alessandro Ratti e Alberto Livotto, uno illustratore e l’altro fotografo. Anche questo elemento rientra nel concept artistico complessivo dell’album. Ancora una volta tutto ruota attorno al tema del giallo e nero, che è diventato l’identità visiva scelta per questo capitolo del progetto.
D: Un’ultima domanda — quando sarà possibile ascoltare il disco dal vivo?
R: Stiamo organizzando una data proprio qui a Barga. Speriamo di riuscire a farla a luglio. Sicuramente sarà di venerdì sera, anche se al momento non abbiamo ancora una data precisa confermata.
