At 5:30 this afternoon local time an exhibition opens in Chicago, USA which will include paintings from the Barga artist Sandra Rigali.
Not only are there images from Barga and this area included in the exhibited paintings but also the words from one of Barga’s most illustrious sons – of course we’re talking about the poetry of Giovanni Pascoli
As you can hear in the short conversation recorded (in Italiano) in Sandra’s studio this week, she has included in her work the texts from various Pascoli poems.
Not only that but the physical relationship between the paintings also reflects the relationship ands spaces in the verses of Pascoli.
She is exhibiting not just single paintings but diptych and triptych – two and three paintings together to form one single piece of work.
The exhibition which can be seen at the State Street Gallery of Chicago will be open until the 27th January 2014
