Dan first appeared on barganews way back in 2005 – (that article can be read here)
His article on Barga – “Bel canto di Barga – Make beautiful music together in a medieval Italian town with more than its share of harmony” which can still be seen on the Daily Press site here was printed and attached to the front of Aristo’s bar, where it has remained ever since – it has survived eight years of people brushing past without being torn off or damaged.
Dan and his family have since been regular visitors to Barga over those years and this week they were once more to be found in Aristo’s bar sampling the red wine and live music.
Dan is no longer a journalist and has now entered the teaching profession but it would be interesting to find out from him what if anything had changed over those intervening years and just what was it that brought him all the way from the USA to Barga in the first place.
He kindly stopped off in the barganews office to share some of his impressions and thoughts.
