A rude awakening this morning for the owners of two local businesses in Barga as they opened their premises they found that somebody has already been working there at work during the night.
Thieves broke into the restaurant Da Riccardo on the Fosso as some point earlier this morning and after emptying the till, then moved onto to their main point of interest – the wall backing on to the bar next door.
They then broke through a plaster board partition and entered the bar of Paolo Gas and ransacked the gaming machines.
The Carabinieri are investigating the incident and so far no clear idea of the amount of cash stolen but the irony of the sign showing “Bingo with jackpot” right next to the point of entry and exit of the burglars was not lost on an angry looking Paolo Gas this morning.
