Lunedì 24 agosto in Piazza Angelio si esibiranno: The Duet con Alberto Bellavia al piano, Roberto Rebufello al sax Roberto Chiriaco al contrabbasso e Marco Canavese alla batteria; a seguire Strani Poeti con Andrea Garibaldi al piano, Michele Marini al clarinetto e sax, Marco Benedetti al contrabbasso e Giovanni Gargini alla batteria.
Una giuria qualificata assegnerà il premio BargaJazz sez. D per il miglior gruppo mentre verrà assegnato al miglior solista emergente il premio dedicato a Luca Flores, l’eccezionale pianista militante nelle file della BargaJazz Orchestra nelle prime edizioni del festival e scomparso tragicamente qualche anno fa. I concerti avranno inizio alle ore 21,30, ingresso 5 euro.

The Strani Poeti Quartet was born in 2008 with the intention of proposing original compositions written by all the band’s musicians. The evoked moods are several and the same goes for the rhythmic variety: there are latin and swing songs, as well as rhythms with much more pop. An important factor in all our compositions is the melody which is presented well by the saxophones and more often by Michele Marini’s clarinet. The rhythm section, that is always in search of interplay, is formed by Andrea Garibaldi, on Piano, Marco Benedetti on Double Bass and Giovanni Gargini on Drums. The band was chosen among the 3 best out of 41 projects at the Waltex Jazz Competition 2009’s final (Egea-Radar Records) which took place on the 14th of May in Auditorium Santa Cecilia in Perugia with a jury consisting of Marco Zurzolo, Claudio Carboni, Filippo Bianchi, Paolo Damiani, Sergio Spada and Claudio Bianconi. – source
