The Consorzio Bonifica 1 Toscana Nord and the Comune have planted more cherry trees on the bastion of Piazzale del Fosso to celebrate children born during 2023 and do their part to mitigate climate change.
The President of the Consortium declared: “With satisfaction, we continued the collaboration with the Municipality of Barga, which joined our urban forestry project, created with the goal of helping to mitigate the effects of climate change through widespread planting in the territories.
The Comune Administration expressed satisfaction in continuing this interesting project with significant environmental value.
The planting of new trees aims to continue the local fight against climate change and to welcome the newborns to the Comune of Barga, who are our future.
The species selected for this planting is very robust and native, widespread across the national territory, and often used to adorn parks and gardens.
The rich bloom, well appreciated by pollinating insects, is capable of sustaining and increasing local biodiversity.
Children born during 2023 were invited on May 25th to the Bastione del Fosso just outside the walls of Barga Vecchia to participate in the ceremony with a commemorative photo.

Il Consorzio Bonifica 1 Toscana Nord e il Comune hanno piantato altri ciliegi sul bastione del Piazzale del Fosso per celebrare i bambini nati nel 2023 e fare la propria parte per mitigare i cambiamenti climatici.
Il Presidente del Consorzio ha dichiarato: “Con soddisfazione, abbiamo continuato la collaborazione con il Comune di Barga, che ha aderito al nostro progetto di forestazione urbana, nato con l’obiettivo di contribuire a mitigare gli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici attraverso la piantumazione diffusa nei territori.
L’Amministrazione Comunale ha espresso soddisfazione nel proseguire questo interessante progetto con un’importante valenza ambientale.
La piantumazione di nuovi alberi mira a continuare la lotta locale contro i cambiamenti climatici e a dare il benvenuto ai nuovi nati nel Comune di Barga, che sono il nostro futuro.
La specie selezionata per questa piantumazione è molto robusta e autoctona, diffusa sul territorio nazionale e spesso utilizzata per adornare parchi e giardini.
La ricca fioritura, ben apprezzata dagli insetti impollinatori, è in grado di sostenere e accrescere la biodiversità locale.
I bambini nati nel 2023 sono stati invitati il 25 maggio al Bastione del Fosso appena fuori le mura di Barga Vecchia per partecipare alla cerimonia con una foto ricordo.
