This exhibition installation in Barga unfolds as an intimate yet urgent dialogue between space, memory, and material. Rooted in an ongoing reflection on conflict and suffering—both historical and acutely present—the work emerged through conversations with my students, as we grappled together with the realities of human pain and loss.
These discussions coincided with the escalation of war in Palestine, prompting us, as artists with a shared social conscience, to respond through a collective installation that reflects the lived experience of the present moment.
Central to the work is the use of imagery—fragments of life captured not by professional means, but through mobile phones by those directly experiencing these conditions. These images, immediate and unfiltered, carry the weight of fleeting existence, where moments are often unrecorded, overlooked, or discarded.
In response, the installation embraces a deliberately temporary and unprecious form, echoing the fragility and transience of lives treated as expendable. Through its materials and atmosphere, the work invites visitors to move slowly within a space that holds both presence and absence, bearing witness to the passing moments of lives marked by profound suffering.

Quest’installazione espositiva a Barga si sviluppa come un dialogo intimo ma urgente tra spazio, memoria e materia. Radicata in una continua riflessione sul conflitto e sulla sofferenza – sia storica che acutamente attuale – l’opera è nata da conversazioni con i miei studenti, mentre ci confrontavamo insieme con la realtà del dolore e della perdita umana.
Queste discussioni hanno coinciso con l’escalation della guerra in Palestina, spingendoci, come artisti con una coscienza sociale condivisa, a rispondere attraverso un’installazione collettiva che riflette l’esperienza vissuta del momento presente.
Centrale dell’opera è l’uso delle immagini: frammenti di vita catturati non da professionisti, ma attraverso i telefoni cellulari di coloro che vivono direttamente queste condizioni. Queste immagini, immediate e non filtrate, portano il peso di un’esistenza fugace, dove i momenti spesso non vengono registrati, trascurati o scartati.
In risposta, l’installazione abbraccia una forma volutamente temporanea e priva di valore, riecheggiando la fragilità e la transitorietà di vite trattate come sacrificabili. Attraverso i materiali e l’atmosfera, l’opera invita i visitatori a muoversi lentamente all’interno di uno spazio che racchiude presenza e assenza, testimoniando gli istanti fugaci di vite segnate da una profonda sofferenza.
