La fiaccolata natalizia in vespa e moto per le vie di Barga.
The annual torchlight motorbike and vespa procession was held this evening in Barga with over 70 bikes, vespas and mopeds taking part in the night time tour of the city.
The torchlight procession has been cancelled in the past because of terrible weather conditions but this evening all was ready, prepared and they could not have asked for better weather conditions – 4 degrees out there – on a December evening up in the mountains that is bordering on a heatwave.
The start was in Barga Giardino with a blessing by Don Stefano – the riders and their machines then left in noisy procession up to the Fosso then back down into Barga Giardino and up to Canteo before back tracking through Fornacetta then down to the sports field, up past the swimming pool and back into Barga Giardino once more.
The event was organised by the Vespa Club of Barga (their site can be seen here) including some very strict checks on all riders having a valid green pass.
