Margaret Moore's latest book

Back in November of last year we revealed just who was the mystery writer Margaret Moore who was writing novels set in the beautiful fictional hill-town Borgo San Cristoforo, in Tuscany. Margaret Moore IS a writer living in Barga – “the fictional hill-town Borgo San Cristoforo” was maybe just a little too much of a clue to be overlooked. Margaret Moore – better know perhaps as Margaret Morganti has just published her third book in the Ruggero di Girolamo series – Tuscan Terror

It was early morning. There was ice on the roads but the sun, climbing the blue sky, promised to melt it. A small, ancient, three-wheeled vehicle, an Ape truck of a dull blue colour, much scratched and rather battered, drew to a noisy halt beside the rubbish bins. A man got out and stood for a moment scrutinising the area, then evidently satisfied that no one had noticed him, placed a plastic bag on the ground in front of the largest green bin. He climbed back in and the vehicle was set into rackety motion again. As it got further and further away it sounded more and more like the insect it was named after, the bee. Dr. di Girolamo is the local magistrate for Borgo San Cristoforo, in Tuscany. Still recovering from a sensational murder the previous summer, the community of Borgo San Cristoforo is now faced with the mystery of an abandoned baby and the hideous murder of a young man whose body is found in the woods. Once again, Dr. di Girolamo must search for a killer in this suspenseful new Tuscan mystery by Margaret Moore.

This is the third book from Margaret Moore that I have enjoyed and the writing has become slicker by the book. A riveting catalogue of murders that were so perfectly gruesome as I found to my cost, staying up till 2am to find out “who done it” !! The characters and area beautifully drawn, you could close your eyes and be in Borgo San Cristoforo. I cant wait for book number four till we find out what Margaret Moore has in store personally and professionally for Ruggero di Girolamo.
