Aristodemo Casciani celebrates 85 years on the planet

The last big birthday celebration for Aristodemo was back in 2004 for his 80th birthday. On that day there was a large party in the piazza with, of course, lots of live music but also with one of the largest birthday cakes seen in Barga Vecchia. Today was his 85th birthday and as chance would have it – early closing day for his bar. So what did his friends and customers do ? … Mohammed to the mountain-like they took the party to his house and rung his front door bell and waited for him to open the door. To his uncharacteristically speechless face was presented a smaller birthday cake by one of the smallest members of the community – Anita Rizzardi – not yet 4 months old. Happy birthday Aristodemo from all the staff at barganews. As the candles on the cake said … 58 today not 85 … at least in spirit.
