The Salamanders were once more treading the boards this evening (last gig is here) but this time they were playing away from home at the newly opened music pub – the Grindhouse in Castelnuovo. A work inflicted injury to the hand of their drummer Diego Bacci meant that the boys were playing their numbers at a slightly slower pace than normal. None of which seemed to bother their fans who had travelled the Castelnuovo to support their favourite Barga band.
A pained look spread across his face every time the rhythm picked up but the slightly slower pace actually helped the singer Noah pull out nuances from his songs that other wise would have been missed.
Great mix of good old rock and roll, ska, reggae and even a bit of funk (thanks to the bass slapping Giuseppe Jos Venturi pushing the band along.)
The Salamanders are; Noah Heraclitus Tortelli: Voice, Guitar, Harmonica | Marco Lugliani: Lead Guitar | Giuseppe Jos Venturi: Bass Guitar | Diego Bacci: Drum & Percussion

The Salamanders take their name from a song called Salamander by one of Paolo Nutini’s support bands – Will and the People
