Yesterday 21st March* was officially the start of the Spring 2007. A quick look at the bargaweather site shows an outside temperature of 7° and strong winds coming down across the snow covered mountains behind Barga making it feel much colder than 7°.
We sent out the award winning barganews photographer O'Connor to see what photographic evidence he could find for the start of spring. He came back with a series of images all based around the various flowers that were blooming here in Barga Vecchia.
*The calculation of Easter in the Christian church (first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the March equinox), uses its own definition for the equinox — it always falls on March 21. The earliest possible Easter date in any year is therefore March 22.
