It is not very often that we here on barganews recommend software (in fact the last time was over 2 years ago – remember the world before the Skype internet telephone service ? ) but we can no longer keep quiet about the Firefox2 browser. Here in the office we have been running Firefox for the past year and no longer use the Microsoft IE browser on any of the computers. There are some differences on just how the site comes up on the two browsers. In fact for the past 12 months the barganews site has been written to be seen on Firefox. If you are reading this using Microsoft Internet Explorer then please download the Firefox software (here), install and be prepared for a far smoother, faster and more secure browser experience. The latest version of Firefox now runs perfectly without a hitch on Microsoft Vista or on the Mac OS X system. There has just been released an add-on that you can download to Firefox called the IE tab (you can find it here) which allows you to open an Internet Explorer browser tab inside the Firefox browser for those sites where you still have to have IE.

I’ve been using this software now for over 2 years….it just gets better – speed is increased, page redraws are faster, plug-ins actually work and make my daily job so much easier…but it does get better 🙂 I use the Mozilla mail client “Thunderbird” for all my mail on both OSX and Windows.

Can’t recommend these free pieces of software enough
