Barga is known as art city for its thriving artist community with more artists arriving each year to take part in the artistic life that can be found here especially during the summer months. There were over 40 exhibitions last summer in Barga alone but for many younger creative people it is not the visual arts that inspire them, instead it is the musicians and the writers of Barga who are pushing the creative boundaries ever further. When those two differing skills – making music and writing words combine then it can be a doubly interesting experience. Last year we reported on one such case – Simone Togneri – a musician from Barga who recently started writing novels (article here ) and this year we have another interesting example. Dr. Frame the guitar player from Ortonovo, one of Barga's famous bands from the recent past, has just published his first book called 77 Inferni.
Ortonovo are now unfortunately no longer playing together but Dr. Frame can be found most days jamming at Aristodemo Casciani's bar – these days moving more into a jazz based style of guitar music but he has also been very busy with his keyboard typing out a new book which has just been published (in Italian) on the net and can be bought here
Click on the link at the bottom of this article for a lengthy interview with Dr. Frame recorded this afternoon as he explains some of the reasoning behind his change of media and his hopes for the new book that he is working on at the moment (in Italian)
