One of the most recognisable people in Barga has been spotted on the other side of the pond at the Winter Music Conference held each year in Miami USA. Our very own master trumpeter Andrea Guzzoletti (site here) who has featured on these pages many, many times over the years along with other members of the Barga Jazz Club, the BargaJazz Band and of course as the driving force behind the now sadly gone but still missed experiment in House Music – the Apecarica club. (images from Apecarica featuring Andrea, articolo 31 and Luca Bacchetti are here) He is still making music, pushing the envelope and keeping people dancing. Maybe 2008 is the year that he finally get “the break” into the big time and manages to get his music in front of a larger audience?
Judging by the images he was in good company – no, just just the pretty women that always seem to appear in most photographs of Andrea – but isn’t that Luca Bacchetti (his site is here) in one of the images?
He has been nominated as one of the best Minimal Electronic Artists on the Beatport Awards.
The Winter Music Conference, now in its 23rd year, is regarded as the singular networking event in the dance music industry, attracting professionals from over 62 different countries. With its high concentration of top international artists, DJs and industry professionals, WMC permeates the international press and is thereby one of the most publicised events in the business. Every aspect of the industry is represented including the top technological innovators, artists, DJs, producers, radio and video programmers, retailers, distributors, audio manufacturers and many more. There are countless reasons why people from all over the world return year after year for this event, the most outstanding one being that there is nothing else in the world like it. UPDATE – 11th April 2008 …. well we wrote in the article “Maybe 2008 is the year that he finally get “the break” into the big time and manages to get his music in front of a larger audience?” … no sooner said that done …fresh off the presses this morning a new CD compilation from the WMC 2008 featuring Andrea Guzzoletti. We can also see just who else has been credited with the tune – Put your hands up – some old friends of barganews .. Roberto Cecchetto and Stefano Onorati, both habitual Aristodemo devotees and Barga Jazz fiends.

I’d say you’re back up and running on all cylinders here.
Someone sent this to me to today:
Mr Berlusconi was quoted as saying that when he looked round
parliament, he found that female politicians from the right were “more
beautiful”.
“The left has no taste, even when it comes to women,” the 71-year-old
was quoted as saying.
There seem to be some pretty women on the left side of the pond though… 😉
Welcome back.
Are you sure that this site is now running smoothly, – I recently Goggled this page and got an unwanted popup.
