MOT meaning in its simplest sense,”courage” is the name of an educational project from Norway which was presented this morning in the Teatro dei Differenti by Prof. Bjorn Nedreskodje a headmaster of an school in Skarbøvik, Ålesund, Norway. As the professor mentions in an short interview at the end of this article, the project MOT for him means; courage to live your own life, courage to care about other people, courage to say no to people and things which are not good for you and courage to live a good life. Of particular interest was the concept of the “horseshoe culture” – a seating arrangement for students and teachers using not a closed circle but a horseshoe shape – with one end physically and conceptually open for other outside intervention – let’s hope that the students seated in the Teatro this morning can extract and maybe give back some positive energy to and from MOT.
Present in the theatre this morning were Claudio Bracaloni e Maria Coppolecchia dell’Ufficio Scolastico provinciale and il presidente della Conferenza dei Sindaci per l’Istruzione, Renzo Pia.
