Regular readers of barganews might remember the series of sparkling articles written back in 2002 which charted the unfolding story of a journalist trying to come to terms with the two opposing aims of enjoying a prolonged stay in Barga during the summer festivals and at the same time writing attempting to write a book. Would he succeed in either or both? The journalist in question was Rupert Collins-White. He spent a year living here in Barga before returning to his career as a journalist in London. We have the results of his journalism (those articles are here) – the book is still “in progress” but for the moment he has other things on his mind probably much more important that mere writing of books. This week Rupert married Charlotte in an Anglican church in Tregony near Truro in Cornwall, England.
His father, Geoff Collins-White, the voice behind the recently disbanded Barga blues band – Jack’s Pack (and now transmogrified in the trio The Beagles) travelled along with his wife Brenda from Barga to Cornwall to be present at the ceremony.
Also present were two special guests, well known in this city; Alessandro Santini and Alessandro Adami. Thanks to the latter we have a series of images from the wedding that we can publish on barganews.
Both Rupert and Alessandro appear on the cover of the Petanque site, the favoured sport of the pair when Rupert was still living in Barga
Congratulations to the pair from all the staff at barganews.com
Tanti auguri, al caro Rupertino e la sua bella sposa. E complimenti al magrissimo fotografo!
Thanks monacu, and many thanks to DB for putting this up, and to Alessandro Adami for taking these great photos, and to Alessandro Santini for coming too and looking pretty!
Adami – never take that suit off… you looked great! Wear it in Barga as much as possible!
