Barga and Barghigiani have over the years become used to seeing wedding parties walking through through Barga Vecchia on their way to the Duomo or the Palazzo Pancrazi on their way to make official their vows. Barga has also become a place for weddings for couples from outside – the Scottish weddings in Barga have been numerous for instance but when its a local wedding the air in the piazzas does get just that bit more crackly and vibrant as the groom stands waiting patiently for his bride to appear. And so it was this afternoon when Francesco Pierantoni stood standing outside the Palazzo Pancrazi waiting for his bride to be Raffaella Accorsini to turn the corner and arrive in Piazza Salvi. Arrive she did, in great style and with the traditional 5 – 10 minute delay (after all the bride cannot seem to be too eager after all)
Congratulations to the pair and all the best for the future from all the staff at barganews.
