Unfortunately on show for only one week but another great exhibition of recent work from the painter Peter Byatt at the Casa Cordati Gallery in Barga Vecchia.
No stranger to Casa Cordati, as he has exhibited here in 2005 , 2006 and 2008 (2007 his annual exhibition was at La Galleria article here) – this year he is exhibiting in three rooms of the main Cordati Gallery and once again on the canvases there is some stunning brushwork from this artist.
After a brief foray into watercolours, Peter is back once again with oils and his enjoyment in handling that media shines through the work. We cannot recommend this exhibition enough – not to be missed. In a fast moving world – stop, slow down and spend some time with these images.

The Peter Byatt Exhibition. Peter Byatt is a successful British painter specialising in both Watercolours and Oils. He is a Winner of the Winsor and Newton Award and has exhibited in The Royal Academy, London He was born in Manchester, England in 1944. He graduated with honours from Harrow School of Art. In 2003 he moved to Italy and lives in Santa Maria, a locality of Barga. Richly textured and exquisitely toned, Peter’s paintings have an essence of a lifetime involvement with art. He selects from nature and embarks on compositions from the heart. His paintings give sensory impressions beyond the purely visual.
