The Scacciaguai restaurant in Barga Vechia celebrated their third birthday this weekend in style with a party that started in the afternoon and continued right through the evening and into the next day. On the menu was a standing buffet for the guests followed by an evening meal but the real special dish on offer was the music. Barga’s own Emma & gli Aristodemo playing their own brand of 1940’s and 50’s Italian swing.
The voice of Emma Morton and backed by her usual musicians; Fabio Guazzelli on guitar, Keane on Irish drum and percussion, Leo Gnesi on double bass and Alessandro Rizzardi on mandolin and sax.
The birthday cake for the Reverberi family with its 3 candles was cut to a round of applause late in the evening but the real “cherry on the cake, so to speak” was supplied once again by the musicians as at the end of the concert, the guitarist Fabio Guazzelli got down on bended knee and proposed to, and was accepted by Emma Morton.
The singer now proudly wears an 1930’s engagement ring on her left hand and wedding bells are expected some time within the year.
Who will play at their wedding ? hmm
