The race started from the Cicli Vellutini bike shop on the main road through Fornaci and then followed a course of 13 kilometres past Ponte all’Ania to Piano di Coreglia, crossing the river to Turrite Cava, Bolognana, Gallicano and then via Mologno back to their original starting point in Fornaci.
That circuit was then repeated five times so that the riders completed in total a 66 kilometres race.
