The torrential rains have taken their toll on the road that leads from Barga through Tiglio to Coreglia Antelminelli.
From Barga to the apex at the Torrente Ania there is at least one serious landslide which has taken the hillside from below the road, and another that has blocked the roadbed from above.
On the Coreglia side there are half a dozen serious landslide on both upsides and downsides of the road.
It makes for perilous driving and will require major roadwork to repair.
