A fairly low key Halloween in Barga this year as there did seem to be a few people wandering around looking for “the party” but not a lot actually going on.
A quick tour of the restaurants and trattoria in Barga Vecchia also showed that very few people had actually bothered to dress up this year – the main exception being the Shamrock Irish Pub which seemed to be filled to bursting with zombies and other white faced customers.
The only real excitement of the evening was when a small red light was seen hovering over the city and moving slowly upwards, which turned out to be a chinese sky lantern somebody had launched somewhere in Barga just as a complete power cut threw the whole city into darkness for five minutes before the power came back on again.
