Barga celebrates its connection with Scotland and Scottish culture, by having organizing “Barga’s Scottish Weekend”. It will take place on 2nd 3rd 4th of September.
The event will start on Friday 2nd September with the tastings of typically Scottish products in various venues in the historic centre of Barga (reservation recommended).
Saturday 3rd September at 10 am at the “J. Moscardini stadium” ( Italo-Scottish footballer who played with Italian national team) there will be the friendly match between the national teams of ‘writers’ from Italy and Scotland.
Come spend the day with numerous events then end the day with dinner at L’Osteria in Piazza Angelio (reservations required) and with traditional Scottish dancing.
The day coincides with the “7th Italian Celtic Supporters Club” annual gathering, organized by BargaCSC. The will also be the presentation several books about Celtic. The will also be a traditional Tuscan-Scottish dinner at the Shamrock Irish Pub ( reservations required) with music by the Scottish ceilidh band.
Sunday, September 4th the final event will be a football match between Celtic fans and then final farewell buffet at the PaoloGas Bar.
During the events you can purchase typical Scottish products, thanks to the participation of Scotland for You, Gold Scotland, Clan Italia and La Bottega del Pane who will set up a small Scottish market.

The will be a Scottish market from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon in Angelio Square and in front of the Town Hall organized by “La Bottega del pane”, Gold Scotland, Scotlandforyou.com, Clan Italia.
Barga celebra il suo legame con la Scozia e con la cultura scozzese, infatti si terrà dal 2 al 4 settembre il primo “Barga’s Scottish Weekend”. La manifestazione avrà inizio con una degustazione di prodotti tipici scozzesi nei vari locali di Barga (si consiglia la prenotazione) venerdì 2 settembre, per poi avere la giornata clou in sabato 3 settembre, infatti alle ore 10 presso lo stadio “J. Moscardini” (calciatore italo-scozzese che ha vestito la maglia della nazionale italiana) avrà luogo l’amichevole tra le rappresentative nazionali scrittori di Italia e Scozia. La giornata trascorrerà con numerose iniziative per concludersi con una cena in piazza Angelio presso L’Osteria (prenotazione obbligatoria) con ballo tradizionale scozzese. Nell’ambito della manifestazione si terrà anche il “VII raduno nazionale dei Celtic Supporters Club italiani” organizzato dal BargaCSC durante il quale saranno presentati alcuni libri che parlano di Celtic, ma non solo e la tradizionale cena tosco-scozzese presso lo Shamrock Irish Pub (prenotazione obbligatoria) con musica a cura della Scottish ceilidh band. Nel giorno di domenica 4 settembre gli eventi conclusivi con la partita di calcetto tra i tifosi del Celtic ed il buffet di saluto presso il Bar del PaoloGas. Durante la manifestazione sarà possibile acquistare prodotti tipici scozzesi grazie alla partecipazione di Scotland for You, Oro di Scozia, Clan Italia e La Bottega del Pane che allestiranno un piccolo scottish market.
