The narrow streets and piazzas of Barga Vecchia were filled with a new sound as the event “I libri invadano la città” took place during the day organised by the comune and La noce a tre canti cultural association
As the name of the event implies “the city invaded by books” the printed and spoken text played a dominant role in the proceedings with informal book readings throughout the city by volunteer readers.
As can be seen and heard in the video below, a whole world of books and authors were put on show including self penned poems, children’s stories, Bukowski, D’Annunzio, and of course as this is Barga, the home of the poet – Pascoli.
