Just last month the corks were flying in Piazza Angelio in Barga Vecchia as a new restaurant – Ristorante Piazzangelio opened up for business (full article here)
The building was originally a bank before them becoming the Pro loco, an antique shop then a concept store then a gallery before finally being transformed into an elegant restaurant by the work of the Architect Massimiliano Lanciani.

The team of Valentina Agighioleanu, the chef Alfonso Esposito and his wife, Tania have now been open to the public for the last month and this week comes a new initiative as they evolve themselves as not just simply a sophisticated place to eat but also taking up their position in the cultural life of the city.
An exhibition of site specific work by Michela Bertolacci is now on show inside the restaurant as she explores the symbol of the heart.
