Earlier today, once again as tradition has to be respected, a flag now flies over the Duomo to mark the week of celebrations for the patron of Barga, St. Christopher (full article here)
The brief ceremony on top of the bell tower of the Duomo as the blue flag of Barga was raised over the city brought with an unpleasant surprise as it was noticed for the first time that the recent high winds and storm earlier this season had probably intact inflicted some damage to the Duomo itself, moving some of the tradition terracotta tiles out of position.
A combination of extremely high temperatures had probably added to the situation as one or two of the centuries old stones expanded and contracted and gradually moved a few millimetres out of place.
Nothing serious but at some point restoration work on the bell tower will be needed.

Lieve danneggiamento al Duomo In precedenza, come vuole la tradizione, una bandiera sventola nuovamente sul Duomo per segnare la settimana di celebrazioni in onore del patrono di Barga, San Cristoforo (articolo completo qui).
La breve cerimonia sulla cima del campanile del Duomo, durante la quale è stata issata la bandiera blu di Barga sulla città, ha portato con sé una spiacevole sorpresa, poiché è stato notato per la prima volta che i recenti venti forti e la tempesta della scorsa stagione hanno probabilmente causato alcuni danni al Duomo stesso, spostando alcune delle tradizionali tegole in terracotta dalla loro posizione.
Una combinazione di temperature estremamente alte ha probabilmente contribuito alla situazione, poiché una o due pietre secolari si sono espandevano e contratte nel tempo, spostandosi gradualmente di pochi millimetri dalla loro posizione originale.
Niente di grave, ma prima o poi sarà necessario effettuare dei lavori di restauro sul campanile.
