Traditional tractor parade this morning passed through Barga on the way to Filecchio for the reenactment of the Trebbiatura – wheat threshing.
The annual event which was normally held at San Pietro in Campo had been moved to the “sagra della polenta” (polenta festival) near the sports facilities in Filecchio.
The parade departed from the “Johnny Moscardini” stadium, featuring vintage agricultural machinery, tractors, decorated carts, and the costumed participants who played the leading roles in the reenactment.
What started out as a small festa in the village to celebrate using the old machinery and tractors to thresh the grain and prepare bales of straw has in the space of just a few years blossomed into a full blown festival of the old traditions once used in this area with everything from bread making, grain preparing and even to roasting grain to make “coffee”.
The real crowd puller was once again the magnificent tractors and agricultural machinery on display including the Landini vintage tractor which powered the threshing machine.

The Trebbiatura featured various methods from the past: traditional beating with the “cerchia,” an old hand-operated threshing machine, and a century-old Borsari threshing machine, powered by a Landini L25 Testa Calda tractor.
The event was organized by the “Polentari di Filecchio” (Polenta-makers of Filecchio) with the close collaboration of the Motroni family from Barga.

Questa mattina, una sfilata tradizionale di trattori ha attraversato Barga lungo la strada per Filecchio per la rievocazione della Trebbiatura – la battitura del grano.
L’evento annuale, che solitamente si svolgeva a San Pietro in Campo, era stato spostato alla “sagra della polenta” vicino alle strutture sportive di Filecchio.
La sfilata è partita dallo stadio “Johnny Moscardini”, presentando macchinari agricoli d’epoca, trattori, carri decorati e partecipanti in costume che hanno interpretato i ruoli principali nella rievocazione.
La Trebbiatura ha incluso vari metodi del passato: il tradizionale battito con la “cerchia”, un’antica trebbiatrice azionata a mano, e una trebbiatrice Borsari centenaria, alimentata da un trattore Landini L25 Testa Calda.
L’evento è stato organizzato dai “Polentari di Filecchio” con la stretta collaborazione della famiglia Motroni di Barga.
