The sound of the bagpipes echoed through the narrow streets of Barga Vecchia this afternoon as Liane Moari and Stephen Johnstone were married in the historic surroundings of Palazzo Pancrazi.
Guests gathered outside the old palazzo before the ceremony, with family and friends arriving dressed in traditional Scottish attire and formal dress, bringing a distinctive Highland atmosphere to the heart of the medieval city. Leading the way through the stone streets was the piper, whose music accompanied the wedding procession and drew the attention of visitors and residents alike as it wound its way towards the ceremony.
Inside the Sala Consiliare of Palazzo Pancrazi, the civil ceremony took place in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The couple exchanged rings surrounded by close family and friends, while the sound of the pipes and the sight of tartan kilts created a striking blend of Scottish tradition and Tuscan setting.
