For what is probably the last time this season we run yet another Befana story – this time it concerns not one but two Befana and with quite literally, a world of difference between the two. The first one is down the valley from Barga close to the river in an area called Arsenale.
She is flying through the trees, a Befanotto seated below with his flask of wine and a large presepio complete with sheep grazing on the snow covered hillside nearby – all the work of Pinelli Francesco and Matteo Casci.

The second Barga Befana is on the other side of the world in Australia where it is not the middle of winter but in fact, the middle of summer with temperatures in the 30's.
Some old friends of barganews (articles about Simone and Filippo are here) – the Franchi brothers, Filippo and Simone could not spend their holiday period without sending us a small video to show us that the Befana is indeed an international figure and alive and well in the heat of a January summer.
