After last years Paolo Biagioni exhibition, we wrote that there was something of a surprise for people who were familiar with Paolo’s work … it would seem that the abstract period was well and truly over as all of the new paintings were firmly and decisively figurative in nature. Paolo’s production of paintings over the last 12 months have continued firmly in that vein as his latest show at the Galleria Comunale. Yes there were a number of large abstract paintings on the wall but these were all from an earlier period, all the latest paintings are figurative and easily deciphered. The Duomo of Barga taking pride of place in most (but not all)
Last years very successful Marc Chagal exhibition at Pisa seems to also had an impact on Paolo and his work as a large orange painting dominating the back wall of the gallery demonstrates.
