They came into the city from Udine and Rome and this time they were not met by the DIGOS -- the secret police who last year had heard that football supporters were converging on Barga and so turned up first to check just what was going on -- this weekend the 2nd National Celtic Supporters Club meeting was held in Barga.
They were in Palazzo Pancrazi this afternoon for a brief presentation ceremony presided over by the assessore of Sport and tourism, Gabriele Giovannetti who exchanged greeting and presents and confirmed that this will now be an annual event bringing in Celtic supporters from right across Italy.
Ci siamo.. il secondo meeting nazionale dei Celtic Supporter Club italiani.. Presenti The Italian Celts ed il Celtic Club Udine, oltre naturalmente il Barga Celtic Supporters Club, che ha organizzato l’evento.
Ritrovo presso il Bar del PaoloGas nel primo pomeriggio e poi trasferimento alle 14 presso la sala consiliare del Comune di Barga per il saluto delle autorità. A seguire ci sarà la visione della partita Celtic-Motherwell, valevole per l’assegnazione della Scottish Cup, sempre presso il Bar del PaoloGas. In serata, ore 20 circa, ci sarà una vera e propria “scottish dinner”, preparata da Adele e Riccardo presso la Trattoria da Riccardo. La serata si concluderà tra canti e balli in puro stile Celtic presso il Bar del Paolo Gas.
Infine nella mattinata di domenica, ore 10 circa , sfida calcistica, al campo di calcetto dei campi da tennis, tra Barga Celtic Supporters Club e The Italian Celts.
