An article we published 5 days ago (here) reported on the torrential rains which had taken their toll on the road that leads from Barga through Tiglio to Coreglia Antelminelli.
From Barga to the apex at the Torrente Ania there was at least one serious landslide which had taken the hillside from below the road, and another that had blocked the roadbed from above.
On the Coreglia side there were half a dozen serious landslide on both upsides and downsides of the road.
It made for perilous driving and will required some major roadwork to repair.
Five days after that massive landslide closed a section of the Tiglio Road near Tiglio Alto, this afternoon comes news that it has been cleared and re-opened, but pass at your own risk.
