As the numbers mount up and the lockdown over the whole of Italy starts to take over daily life – the Barghigiani who are now forced to stay in their houses are showing that they will not be beaten and are now showing their defiance and pride by flying the flag.
This afternoon the Italian flag has been unfurled outside many of their houses and as images start to appear across the social networks, the message is clear – down but not out.
