“Barga IN Jazz” has returned – the music festival in the streets and squares of the historic center of Barga took place this afternoon.
On what was a perfect summer day with blue skies above and not a cloud in the sky, Barga Vecchia was filled with hundreds of people enjoying this year’ Barga in Jazz event. After more than three decades of concentrated effort, planning and a good deal of love from the Rizzardi family, the Barga In Jazz event has turned into the most popular and enjoyable outdoor event here in the city.
The event was inaugurated at 5:00 PM by the MAGICABOOLA BRASS BAND, who led the audience through the ancient “carraie” of Barga.
In the various small squares, jazz groups of various genres and young musicians from SienaJazz University took turns performing, while one square was dedicated to jam sessions organized by the BargaJazz Club.
In Piazza SS. Annunziata, the FLOREA QUINTET performed with Giuditta Franco on vocals, Iacopo Teolis on trumpet, Guglielmo Santimone on piano, Stefano Zambon on double bass, and Simone Brilli on drums.
In Piazza del Teatro, the BARGAJAZZ CLUB OPEN SESSION featured Francesco Massagli on piano, Leonardo Gnesi on double bass, and Federico Cardelli on drums.
In Piazza Salvo Salvi, the LUCA BELLOTTI QUARTET played, with Luca Bellotti on saxophone, Daniele Orselli on guitar, Fabio Di Tanno on double bass, and Vladimiro Carboni on drums.
Piazza Garibaldi was taken over by the group THE PUPPIES, with Simona Magera on vocals, Claudio Rossi on tenor saxophone, Marco Tommasi on trumpet, Piero Giannotti on alto saxophone, Andrea Lucchesi on piano, Adriano Picardi on bass, and Zivago Anchesi on drums.
In Piazza del Sargentone, audiences could enjoy the TRIO of singer SERENA BERNESCHI, accompanied by Federico Frassi on piano and Gianluca Grisafi on double bass.

“Il Barga IN Jazz” è tornato, il festival musicale nelle strade e nelle piazze del centro storico di Barga si è svolto nel pomeriggio.
L’evento è stato inaugurato alle 17:00 dalla MAGICABOOLA BRASS BAND, che ha guidato il pubblico lungo le antiche “carraie” di Barga.
Nelle varie piccole piazze si sono alternati gruppi jazz di vari generi e giovani musicisti provenienti dalla SienaJazz University, mentre una piazza è stata dedicata alle jam session organizzate dal BargaJazz Club.
In Piazza SS. Annunziata, il FLOREA QUINTET si è esibito con Giuditta Franco alla voce, Iacopo Teolis alla tromba, Guglielmo Santimone al pianoforte, Stefano Zambon al contrabbasso e Simone Brilli alla batteria.
In Piazza del Teatro, il BARGAJAZZ CLUB OPEN SESSION ha visto la partecipazione di Francesco Massagli al pianoforte, Leonardo Gnesi al contrabbasso e Federico Cardelli alla batteria.
